I have always been a fan of being a better version of myself. Because larger goals have always been difficult for me to accomplish, I’ve found that by setting smaller goals throughout the month, I’m able to accomplish more as an individual. I also found that when you let someone close to know at least one of your goals (if your goal is something you don’t mind telling) it allows them to hold you accountable, which in the end will help keep you on track.

Every month, I set aside at least one personal hour and go over the goals that I accomplished the month before and new goals for the upcoming month. What I have found that works for me is coming up with long term goals in the beginning of the year and then every month develop smaller goals that will help me meet those long term goals in the end.


WALK 15 MINUTES DURING MY LUNCH BREAK.

In the beginning of the year I swore up and down I would become a healthier version of myself, both physically and emotionally. I normally get an hour for my lunch break, so taking out 15 minutes of that time to walk around outside allows me to get so excited physically activity and relieve some stress from the work day, by clearing my mind.

REPLACE ONE STARCH A DAY WITH A VEGETABLE.

Starches are my downfall and they are what packs the pounds on me. I always tend to never forget my starches, but always forget my vegetables. So, I thought that it would be good to take baby steps and replace a starch with an extra vegetable during lunch or dinner.

GO TO THE GYM AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK.

I seriously can’t be the only one that has a gym membership, but doesn’t use it like they should. I am a budget savvy person, so I hate to waste my $30 a month on a gym membership and wind up not using it. Two days a week will be allocated to working out at the gym this month.

ENJOY MY FRUITS OF LABOR.

I have always been someone who works hard, but I never take that time to enjoy myself and go out because I am naturally a homebody person and I love to curl up with my tablet and read an ebook. This month, I want to go out at least twice or do something out of the norm that is budget friendly. I already set up a movie day with a friend of mine from work. We scored $4 movie tickets to see Wonderwoman this weekend, thanks to T-Mobile Tuesdays!

YOUR TURN.

Take at least an hour sometime this week and go over your main goals you made for yourself in January and develop smaller goals that you will be able to accomplish that will in turn help you to reach your goals.
